Gratitude for a Blooming Seed & Plant Exchange
Thank you to our vibrant DNATL community for making the March 29th Seed & Plant Exchange a day to remember! Over 600 people attended and 40 volunteered at the Fairgrounds’ main exhibit hall to share, learn, and grow. We distributed seeds for cold and warm season crops, flowers, and herbs—and filled five tables with community-exchanged plants, all available for free to get our community growing strong this spring. In addition, we raised over $3,000 for the Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council.
The event buzzed with activity thanks to four hands-on workshops, engaging kids’ activities, silent auction, and over a dozen incredible exhibitors who brought knowledge, resources, and inspiration to every corner of the room.
Thank you to our generous workshop presenters for sharing your time, wisdom, and practical skills. Your workshops helped deepen our collective knowledge and empowered more folks to dig into gardening, growing, and earth stewardship—skills that are vital for cultivating healthy, sustainable communities.
Thank you to our amazing Steering Committee members who helped bring this vision to life—from organizing ideas and posting flyers to sorting seeds, creating signs, gathering donations, hauling tables, hosting booths, and educating the next generation of growers. Your behind-the-scenes efforts made everything possible.
Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who brought their love of gardening, food, and community into every interaction—answering questions, guiding families, and cultivating joy all around.
Thank you to those who pledged to save seeds from their strongest plants and bring them back next year. Together, we’re planting the foundation for a seed bank adapted to our region’s unique growing conditions.
Thank you to our generous donors and sponsors whose support made our silent auction and event possible. Your willingness to give, share, and uplift—even after a long winter—reflects the heart of our community. We’re so grateful for the local businesses and individuals who contributed with such generosity and care to help make this gathering a success.
A special thank you to our featured exhibitors who showcased their products and expertise, adding even more depth to the event. Your presence truly enriched the experience for all attendees, and we’re grateful for the knowledge and resources you shared.
Huge thanks to our incredible food vendors—Itza Pizza, Casitas Coffee, and Smith River Brewing Company—for keeping us nourished and energized throughout the day. Your delicious offerings added so much to the welcoming and celebratory feel of the event.
And finally, thank you to everyone who showed up. Your energy, curiosity, and community spirit are what make gatherings like this so special. We’re grateful to grow with you.
